Unfortunately, it still didn’t fix KML files – I don’t know if Google’s KML parser just breaks with custom map types or projections or what. Creating a marker by hand or using jQuery to parse the KML works perfectly, but using google.maps.KmlLayer places the markers in spectacularly wrong spots.

It’d be cool to have an option to export Google Maps tiles with transparent backgrounds instead of the checkerboard, if that’s easy to do.
